So I've seen 2001 and A Clockwork Orange and I'm obsessed. Where next? I want to go chronological-ish but I don't want to start with something glacial if there's something better first.

Welcome. The right order: **The Killing (1956)** — 85 minutes, tight heist. **Paths of Glory (1957)** — Kirk Douglas, WWI, shattering. **Dr Strangelove (1964)** — funniest film about nuclear war ever made. *Then* Barry Lyndon, then The Shining. Do not watch Eyes Wide Shut until you've seen ten of his films. Resist the temptation.
